St. Lucia Day

For no particular reason, I like to get our Christmas tree on St. Lucia Day (December 13). This is one of my favorite parts of the Advent season. We always cut a Fraser fir at River's Edge tree farm, nestled in the Mt. Baker foothills. It was a very cold, very rainy day this year ~ ideal Pacific Northwest conditions.

Loading up as dusk falls.

Simple pleasures are the best.

it looks beautiful. Wish i could come sit by it and sing carols. seemed like a perfect day. Traditions transform any weather into perfect weather.

I'd love to go tree shopping at a place like that. Tree shopping 'round here means going to the nearest white tent or fenced lot on the side of the road. Sigh.

Your tree is beautiful - beautiful simplicity!
