Hard to believe that Hans' brother Adrian ~ the tattooed, AC/DC lover who visited us last spring ~ spent two years in this get-up while serving in the Papal Swiss Guard.
Michelangelo's Pieta, in St. Peter's, is breathtaking. (Although thanks to an attack by crazed man bearing a hammer, it stands behind bulletproof glass.)
This mummy, dating to approximately 1000 B.C., was one of the boys' favorite parts of the Vatican Museum collection.

These are amazing pictures. What a wealthy of beauty you were able to see! Italy is on my top list of places to visit before I die. There is such rich history and culture to be had. What a blessing!
The mummy is most fascinating and really well preserved. Do they know who it is? Is it a male or female?
