After the half marathon, we spent a couple of nights at Fort Casey State Park. A century ago, Fort Casey, along with two other army outposts, comprised a "triangle of fire" guarding the entrance to Puget Sound. Windswept beaches like this are one reason why, where ever I go, Western Washington always calls me home.

So do they have a hotel, or cabins, or did you do tent camping or what? It's beautiful and I can see why you love it.
